Entry Criteria:

 

The course is free for those who are 18 years or above and who meet the eligibility criteria of Work and Income NZ and/or the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC).

 


Course Summary:

 

The course has been developed to encourage students to study for qualifications in engineering or manufacturing. The industry requires skilled operators, process workers and trades people, therefore the course concentrates on building skills and knowledge that can be applied to employment in the engineering or manufacturing industries or provide the necessary entry requirements for other higher level courses. Students will also gain a strong knowledge of communication and employment skills.

 


Career Opportunities:

 

Upon the completion of the course, graduates will gain internationally recognised certificates and can enter into careers in manufacturing, mechanical trades, fabrication trades, and welding.

 

 

Duration:  48 weeks (Full Time).

 

Intakes:  January, but applicants can join the course at any time during the year when a vacancy becomes available.

 

Qualifications: Units towards the National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering  Level 2, 4711 Welding Ticket, GMAW - MIG, MMAW - Stick, GTAW - TIG, Oxyacetylene Welding and Oxyacetylene gas cutting plant.

 

Day Classes:  9:00 am to 3:30pm (or as per timetable).
